Robert (Rob) Muller is the Executive Vice President – Strategy & Solutions at OPSdesign®. Since joining the firm in 2007 as a Consultant Engineer, Rob has advanced steadily through leadership roles, serving as Senior Consultant, Senior Vice President of Engineering, and, most recently, Senior Vice President – Head of Engineering & Strategic Projects. His career progression reflects not only his technical expertise but also his ability to lead teams and deliver innovative solutions for some of the most complex supply chain challenges in the industry.
With a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Rutgers University and more than two decades of consulting and engineering experience, Rob has designed and implemented solutions across nearly every major market channel. His portfolio spans apparel, appliances, catalog and e-commerce, chemicals, consumer products, pharmaceuticals, government, liquor, office supplies, party supplies, food and beverage, retail, third-party logistics, and beyond.
Rob’s engineering prowess is evident in his work optimizing supply chain networks for manufacturing and distribution operations. He has led the design of manual, mechanized, and fully automated material handling systems for privately held companies and Fortune 500 leaders. His expertise includes time studies for cost analysis, labor planning, lead time modeling, and labor standards development — work that has consistently driven measurable improvements in productivity, accuracy, and efficiency.
At OPSdesign, Rob has been a driving force behind the firm’s engineering standards and best practices. He serves as a hands-on leader who guides project teams while ensuring the highest levels of technical accuracy and innovation. His ability to balance big-picture strategy with detailed execution has helped clients achieve scalable, future-ready supply chain operations.
A respected thought leader in the field, Rob has co-authored industry publications including “A Complete Guide to Pallet Storage Systems” (Warehousing Education & Research Council, 2003) and “Pick This! An Anthology of Piece Picking Alternatives.” He has also shared his expertise as a speaker at national conferences, including the Institute of Industrial Engineers.
